Seasoned filmmaker, writer, and content producer
Femi Odugbemi is a seasoned filmmaker, writer, and content producer. He is a voting member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Oscars) and a member of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (Emmys). His extensive portfolio includes acclaimed TV dramas such as TINSEL, BATTLEGROUND, BRETHREN, and COVENANT, alongside films including MAMA PUT, GIDI BLUES, THE EVE, CODE WILLOW, and the 2024 feature film adaptation of Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka’s prison memoir, THE MAN DIED. Over the years he has also produced numerous documentary films and supported film, training, and cultural initiatives across Africa.
Femi is Co-Founder of the iREPRESENT International Documentary Film Festival in Lagos. He is a former President of the Independent Television Producers Association of Nigeria (ITPAN) and served as the Pioneer Academy Director of the MultiChoice Talent Factory West Africa from 2018 to 2022, where he mentored a generation of filmmakers. A Fellow of the Directors Guild of Nigeria and the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP), he has been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Nigeria Film Corporation and the Nigeria–American Chamber of Commerce Creative Industry Award for Excellence. He is also a reader and mentor for the Durban FilmMart. He is Founder/CEO of Zuri24 Media Lagos and the newly launched #BLACKBox Creative Hub.
